By Jecson King

Over the years, rubber bracelets have emerged as a popular accessory. Silicone wristbands, once started as a charity bracelet, have attracted the attention of people from all age groups. Are you also fascinated by these multi-coloured rubber bracelets? If yes, the good news is that you can design your own rubber band bracelet without spending a lot of money.

This Do-It-Yourself guide will help you to design an impressive and stylish bracelet to earn a popular place in your friend circle. So let's get started.

You will need:

Rubber Bands of different colours - you can use as many colours as you want.

 1 Hook

 1 Pencil or Pen

Method:

Now that you have collected all the accessories, we can start with our project. First, I will teach you how to design a simple bracelet.

Take the rubber band and fold it in half around the pen/pencil. Then take a different coloured band and string it through the first wrist band and fold it in half. Continue doing the same until the length of the bracelet is enough and it can be easily worn around your wrist. Finally, tie the ends together and your bracelet is ready to wear.

You can use a different band to tie the ends of your rubber bracelets together or tie them with a string or anything that you can come across.

Fishtail Bracelet

Designing a perfect fishtail bracelet will need you some patience and lots of practice. So try making it till you are satisfied with the results.

Start by using your index finger and middle finger as the loom. Set up the first band in the figure of 8 followed by the second and the third rubber band in the shape of 0. Now bring the bottom rubber band over the top of the second and third band. Next, take one side of the band that is on the bottom and bring it over your finger. Drop it so that it is over the top of the other two bands. Repeat the same with the opposite side.

Follow this by adding another rubber band over the top of the previous bands. Work out with the rubber bands according to the above mentioned steps and make sure that there are always 3 bands on your fingers. Keep repeating the pattern and soon you will find a fishtail pattern in between your fingers. Keep weaving the bracelet so that it reaches the required length. Finally, finish off the bracelet by slipping in the loose end into an S- or C- shaped clip. You can use different colours to make your rubber bracelets look more interesting and unique.
